NAT-3: Deepening Planetary Delineations
Prerequisite:
Students must have completed NAT-1, NAT-2.
Course Description:
Each course builds on the one before and you as you go from one course to another, you will not only continue to master particular techniques, but you will gain a broader view of astrological concepts. Building upon the techniques learned in NAT-1 and NAT-2 this course teaches the delineation of the planets, angles and Nodes. Introduces retrogression, synodic cycles, and explains house systems.
Classes are held weekly.
Class 1: Historical Overview History and Lineages of Astrology History of Different Types of Techniques
Class 2: House Systems: Introducing Placidus
The Astronomy of House Systems Quadrant vs. Non-quadrant House Systems Idealized and Equal Division House Systems The Ecliptic/Spatial Coordinates/Time-Based Single-Axis Systems/Dual-Axes Systems Timeline Practice with more than one system, with focus on what planets change house. Why some astrologers work with two systems
Class 3: Working with Interceptions How Interceptions Work Interpretation of Intercepted Planets Changes to Planets Ruling Houses
Class 4: The Angles Ascendant/Descendant (Review of the Helmsman Concept) MC/IC Eminence Difference between the Angles and Angular Houses
Class 5: Lunar Nodes and Eclipses
Class 6: Other Calculated Points – Arabic Parts Part of Fortune/Part of Spirit Antiscia, Vertex
Class 7: Retrogrades and Synodic Cycles Retrograde Cycles and Inferior Planets Retrograde Cycles of Superior Planets Synodic Cycles
Class 8: Lunar Phases Using Phases in Aspects
Class 9: Other Points – The Big Four plus Chiron Ceres, Vesta, Juno, Pallas Athena, Chiron
Class 10: Interpretation: Working with the Grammar of the Chart
Class 11: Chart Practicum
Class 12: Final Exam
