2 x Days, 3 x 2 Hour Sessions, 2 x 2 Hour Sessions
10 Hours in Total
Session 1 - 12.00pm-2.00pm (AEDT)

A massive welcome to AstroCollege to Aswin Subramanyan, who will presenting an intensive 2-day workshop on The Nakshatras, a very important component of Jyotish astrology.
Nakshatras are often described as the indigenous stellar-lunar framework of astrology in India and represent one of the oldest continuous astrological traditions still in active practice today. The 27 lunar mansions provide access to subtle and often hidden layers of the natal chart, enabling the astrologer to work with greater nuance, clarity, and spontaneity during both consultations and research.
Please Note: In preparation for this workshop, consider casting your charts in the sidereal zodiac using the Raman ayanamsa so that you are familiar with the planetary degrees. This will be especially helpful when we discuss the Nakshatras in class, and it will also allow you to share your observations or personal experiences related to specific placements. Please do this only if you are comfortable sharing your placements/details in a group forum.
The calculations can be made here!
Overview
While Nakshatras can be studied for all the planets, the Moon is traditionally given primary importance in Indian astrology. The Moon’s placement in a Nakshatra is considered foundational, and even a layperson can often understand intuitively and talk about its symbolic and experiential expressions.
In this workshop, we will study the Nakshatras as a living interpretive framework and explore how they can be meaningfully integrated into participants’ existing astrological practices, regardless of the tradition they primarily work with. The emphasis will be on clarity, applicability, and developing a deeper symbolic sensitivity rather than memorisation alone.
